Govtech for policy delivery: cybersecurity
Too often new practitioners are not able to live up to their intent because of a disconnect between topic-related expertise and actual delivery. In an age of real-time changes, tight budgetary restraints, and static bureaucracies, digital experts from all fields must find new ways of making things happen efficiently, cheaply, and with high quality.
Govtech -- a new kind of public-private partnership between governments and innovative private sector partners, mainly startups, that aims to solve public problems with data, technology, and innovation -- is entering the public sphere as a space that, when adequately developed, can help governments take on new expertise when needed and in its own terms.
This lecture will focus on the basics of what govtech is, how it can be implemented in government, and how it is already helping the public sector deliver cybersecurity strategies.
