Ranson Ricks is the Interim Executive Director and Principal Project Manager for the Indiana University Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research (CACR), where he specializes in strategic program leadership and the operationalization of complex security initiatives. As a key contributor to Trusted CI (the NSF Cybersecurity Center of Excellence), his major projects include the Research Cybersecurity Cohort engagements and the Research Infrastructure Security Community (RISC) initiative. He also jointly leads Indiana’s Local Government Cybersecurity Assessment Program (Cybertrack) with Purdue University’s cyberTAP.
With over 30 years of experience leading organizations and project teams across the Department of Defense, industry, and higher education—including 21 years in IT and 9 years in cybersecurity—Ranson excels at engaging stakeholders, facilitating collaborative teams, and translating program vision into executable operational plans. He holds an M.S. in Engineering Management from Saint Martin’s University, an M.A. from the U.S. Air Force Air University, and a B.S. in Electronic Engineering Technology from Savannah State University.
